After reflecting on some of the significant local news from 2024 that had positive impact on our region, we thought it would be fun to share the three local projects we’re most enthusiastic for in 2025. These projects, spanning international to local transportation and events, are set to make significant progress in the coming year.
South McGregor Avenue Project
In the spring of 2023, South McGregor Avenue closed for major renovations. As a crucial connector road for central Mobile residents, its closure has been quite inconvenient. However, our team, along with many other Mobilians, is excited that this two-year project is on track to be completed in late 2025! Follow its progress at City of Mobile – McGregor AvenueProject.
New Civic Center Area
Can one of our 2024 highlights also count as something we’re looking forward to in 2025? Absolutely! Construction on the new Civic Center is scheduled to begin in 2025. As commercial real estate agents, we are always fans of great redevelopment projects. More details can be found at City of Mobile – New Arena.
Mobile International Airport
Final on our list is the new Mobile International Airport, scheduled to open in early 2026. We’re expecting to see some exciting progress on this project in 2025! As the Mobile Airport Authority transitions commercial service from Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) to Mobile International Airport (BFM), passenger convenience will be a major benefit. The new airport will be easily accessible from two interstates and both Mobile and Baldwin counties. Plus, we’re thrilled about the view of beautiful downtown Mobile while departing and returning to our hometown. Track the airport’s progress at Build BFM.
